The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Field Support Office in Plano, TX was excited to give 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last September, I had the opportunity to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a vital part of this community.”
Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent many of her childhood years wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they get to cook nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also give resume assistance along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.
Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.
“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even showed our group their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
