Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both painting two of their work vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be donating 5% of all sales from their pink vans and also donate $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to fundraise for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his workers both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the quantity of cases is actually declining each year, that still leaves a large number of families who are grappling with this disease, and therefore we have an immediate need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, echoed Schneider’s sentiments. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the number one type of cancer in North Carolina – for men and women.”
